1.1.1970 Timo Mämmelä to strengthen Norelco's international growth
M.Sc. Timo Mämmelä has been appointed as Norelco's Export Manager starting from January 13, 2025. He will be responsible for opening and managing the export sales operations of Norelco's products, as well as other export-related tasks. In the first phase, the main export market area will be the Nordic countries.
Timo Mämmelä has previous experience in export duties with a primary market area in the Nordic countries, working for a company focused on preventive maintenance monitoring measurements. Additionally, Timo has worked in business development roles in the pharmaceutical industry and the field of environmental analytics.
Developing export sales requires continuous evaluation and optimisation
"Emphasising quality and customer service is particularly important in international sales. Good customer service, which includes efficient communication, quick deliveries, and problem-solving, creates long-term customer relationships," says Timo.
Developing export sales is not a one-time process; it requires continuous evaluation and optimisation. It is important to regularly measure the performance of export operations and make adjustments to the strategy accordingly. Setting goals, conducting market analyses, and collecting customer feedback help identify areas for improvement and optimise sales processes. Additionally, networking at industry fairs, conferences, and other international events enhances the identification of new customers.
"The first step in developing export sales is always deepening market knowledge. It is important to understand the needs, operating models, and competitive situation of the target markets and to integrate this market knowledge with Norelco's operating model. With this understanding of the industry and its operational culture, we can begin to increase Norelco's brand awareness in the target market," says Timo.
Work-life balance
Timo is from Kouvola and has studied chemistry at the University of Oulu. To balance his work life, Timo strives to maintain his fitness by engaging in activities such as golf and badminton. Additionally, Timo has worked as an entrepreneur in the restaurant industry in recent years.
