Timo Mämmelä to lead Norelco’s data centre business

Norelco is strengthening its data centre business. Timo Mämmelä will take on the role of Sales Manager, Data Centres, from 1 October 2026. He will be responsible for developing Norelco’s data centre business and overseeing data centre projects delivered in Finland and across the Nordic countries.

Mämmelä will continue at Norelco in his new role, having previously served as the company’s Export Manager. In his new position, he will focus on developing the data centre business and customer relationships, as well as delivering project solutions in close collaboration with customers, partners and Norelco’s own organisation.

Reliable and scalable power distribution for data centres

The growth of AI, cloud services and other digital services is increasing the need for data centre capacity. At the same time, reliable power distribution is becoming increasingly important: systems must operate dependably throughout the entire lifecycle of a data centre while also adapting to growing capacity requirements. Norelco CEO Ari Hämäläinen emphasises that the availability of power and the reliability of power distribution must be considered from the earliest stages of project planning.

“A data centre is not simply a building full of servers. It is one of society’s critical electrical systems. If power distribution fails, the consequences can include financial losses amounting to millions and disruptions to digital services around the world,” Hämäläinen explains.

Norelco’s data centre solutions include NorPower 5000 and Okken switchboards, NorMega withdrawable circuit-breaker switchgear, automation cabinets, NorUnit E-House power distribution units and E-Pods. The offering is complemented by engineering and maintenance services. Mämmelä’s role is to bring these products and services together into solutions tailored to each customer’s needs. For data centres in particular, the ability to increase capacity without unnecessary downtime is essential.

“As data centre capacity can change rapidly, power distribution must also be able to scale in stages without lengthy interruptions. Modularity, predictive condition monitoring and maintainability are now just as important as the electrical power itself,” Hämäläinen says.

With this appointment, Norelco is strengthening the development of its data centre business in Finland and across the Nordic countries. The aim is to serve data centre customers increasingly comprehensively, from power distribution engineering and manufacturing to maintenance throughout the systems’ entire lifecycle.
