Warranty Terms

 

The warranty terms apply to switchgear, transformers, substations and other power distribution systems manufactured and delivered by Norelco Oy, which will be referred to as Equipment in the future, as well as spare parts and services. The warranty for new Equipment is valid for 12 months from the date of delivery of the device. The warranty for spare parts and services is valid for 12 months from the date of delivery. Replacing an individual component during the warranty period does not extend the warranty period of the Device. All warranties expire no later than 36 months from the date of delivery of the Device.

Contents of the Warranty

Norelco provides a warranty for the Equipment, spare parts and services it manufactures, which applies to material and manufacturing defects.

The limitations of the warranty are presented in section 5.

The warranty expires if changes are made to the product without Norelco's consent.

Installation work permitted on the device during the warranty period is:

  • connecting and securing input and output cables and grounding
  • opening and sealing of cable penetrations
  • replacement of a burnt-out lamp or fuse or similar
  • installation and connection of transport breaks

It is the customer's responsibility to check the goods carefully every time they arrive at the construction site and to report any transport damage to the driver immediately.

Warranty procedure

A warranty claim must be submitted in writing to Norelco Oy immediately after the defect occurs. The prerequisite for warranty repair is that the warranty is valid and that the product or its part has not been repaired before the defect has been notified in writing.

If it is a simple component that can be replaced by the customer's professional person using the instructions provided by Norelco, the warranty is considered fulfilled when a new, intact component has been delivered to the customer as normal transport. The customer must return the defective components to Norelco within two weeks of shipment, otherwise the shipped components will be charged to the customer.

The work and repairs included in the warranty are performed during normal working hours, on normal weekdays at the Norelco factory or at the place of use of the Device in Finland.

Travel and accommodation costs of Warranty repair

Travel and accommodation costs for warranty repairs, waiting hours and additional costs for work done outside normal working hours are charged to the customer of the warranty repair.

Prerequisites of Warranty repair

The prerequisite of warranty repair is that the following conditions are met:

  1. the damage has occurred under conditions considered normal
  2. the installation, storage, operation and maintenance instructions given by Norelco have been followed
  3. when servicing or repairing the Equipment, original spare parts and accessories have been used

If it is determined that the defect or error reported by the customer is not covered by the warranty, Norelco has the right to charge the accrued costs according to the valid price list.

Limitations of the warranty and liabilities

The warranty does not include:

  1. repair of defects caused by natural wear and tear, operating error or insufficient maintenance
  2. defects resulting from insufficient or incorrect maintenance or installation by others than Norelco
  3. fault repair, if someone other than Norelco has made changes or repairs to the Equipment
  4. defects resulting from storage at the construction site contrary to the instructions
  5. defects resulting from use of the Equipment that deviates from its normal intended use
  6. defects resulting from the Equipment’s operating conditions being different from the earlier informed
  7. from circumstances beyond the guarantor's control, such as voltage fluctuations, lightning, fire or other cases of damage
  8. the warranty also does not include the normal adjustments, operating instructions, care and maintenance of the Equipment
  9. damage caused during transport

The warranty for intermediary products, such as distribution transformers and frequency converters, which are not manufactured by Norelco, is the warranty given by their manufacturer.

The following components are not guaranteed at all: sensors, indicator lamps, accumulators, batteries, fuses

No compensation will be paid in any case for indirect or indirect damages caused by a defective device.

The maximum amount of liabilities and contractual fines arising from or resulting from a defective Device, spare part or service is limited to 50% of the price of the defective unit.

6. Disagreement resolution

Disagreements related to the contract between Norelco and the customer will primarily be resolved through negotiations between the contracting parties. Unless otherwise agreed, conflicts arising from this contract will be resolved in the lower court of the seller's domicile.
