Norelco NorSwitch outdoor circuit breaker is designed as a cost effective solution for ground cable networks as a replacement for pole circuit breakers. By combining the Circuit breaker with intelligent relay protection it is possible to achieve an excellent protection level.

The maintenance of the NorSwitch Outdoor Switching Station is much easier and safer than that of any pole circuit breaker. With the help of the intelligent relay, it is locate the source and location of a cable fault. The service frequency is low, since the circuit breaker can be switched on-off 30.000 times with the nominal current. The strong metal enclosure gives a good protection against weather conditions and protects people from any damage that may occur inside the enclosure.

The low voltage control equipment is all placed in a thermo-insulated cabinet which is equipped with a thermostat controlled heater, so that the NorSwitch Outdoor Circuit Breaker can be used in temperatures as low as -40C.
