Tammelan Talotekniikka relied on Norelco’s products and expertise in the DB Schenker’s Tampere regional terminal project

Tammelan Talotekniikka, specialising in building services, has been Norelco’s customer for nearly 20 years. Electrical Project Manager Jouni Virtanen of Tammelan Talotekniikka gives Norelco credit for its punctual service, helpfulness and well-finished products whose quality is among the best in Finland.

The company, which operates in the Pirkanmaa and Kanta-Häme regions, is one of Norelco’s most longstanding customers. The companies’ co-operation in various projects dates back almost 20 years. Building services projects in which the companies have co-operated include the medical research, laboratory and teaching facilities Medisiina D in Turku and Arvo 2 in Tampere.

Of the most recent projects, DB Schenker’s Tampere regional terminal and Tampere University Central Hospital’s (TAYS) psychiatry ward are among the largest. The construction of the psychiatric ward (T-building) began in June 2020 and will continue until August 2023. The new psychiatry ward facility has a total area of 29,000 square metres. Norelco supplied the T-building with more than 80 LV switchboards and distribution panels.

Norelco’s delivery of high-quality products to the Tampere regional terminal met a tight schedule

Norelco delivered to the 12,000 square-metre Tampere regional terminal a kiosk-type transformer substation, MV switchgear, distribution transformer and LV switchboards. Despite the tight schedule, the deliveries went smoothly. 

“Norelco’s quality is excellent. Their products are always manufactured and finished to a high standard, and all the testing follows suit. I have full confidence in Norelco’s products. In think their quality is among the highest in Finland,” Virtanen praises Norelco.

According to Jouni Virtanen, Norelco has detailed schedules, and the company reports efficiently on the project’s progress. Virtanen also appreciates Norelco’s help in issues other than product deliveries.

“Norelco’s staff is highly skilled, and they have assisted us at different phases of the projects. We have had preliminary consultations at the engineering phase, for instance.”

Virtanen sings the praises of Norelco’s customer service.

“Norelco’s customer service is open and helpful. They provide quick service when you need, for example, price information. They are also quick to react to new projects.”

Tammelan Talotekniikka is happy to continue its co-operation with Norelco.

“I’m sure our co-operation will continue. We have new projects in the pipeline even now,” Virtanen says.
