Norelco participates in the electrification of P2X Solutions’ hydrogen production process in Harjavalta

Norelco Oy and P2X Solutions Oy have signed an agreement on the delivery of process switchboards for P2X Solutions’ green hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta, Finland. Norelco will deliver NorPower 5000 switchboards to Harjavalta in spring 2024.

“Energy production is constantly transforming and becoming more diversified. This calls for safe, disturbance-free solutions in electrification. Norelco’s multi-cubicle NorPower 5000 switchboard system is engineered especially for energy production, industry and large properties,” says Jarkko Hartikainen, Sales Engineer, Norelco Oy.

P2X Solutions is currently building Finland’s first industrial-scale renewable green hydrogen and synthetic methane production plant in Harjavalta. The plant is due to be completed in 2024. The Harjavalta plant’s electrolysis equipment will have a production capacity of 20 MW of green hydrogen. The equipment uses renewable electricity.

The energy sector, which is evolving at an increasing pace, has chosen Norelco as its partner at several sites around Finland.

Norelco has been specialising in power distribution systems and their automation for over 60 years. The company’s product development and production facilities are located in Finland, which guarantees that the products are developed according to the needs of the operating environment in Finland. The NorPower 5000 switchboards to be delivered to Harjavalta are highly suited for the energy industry, as the switchgear’s development has continued until recently.

“The green transition means constant change. We are also able to flexibly tailor our solutions to client needs already in the design phase but also later on in the production phase. As electricity sector experts, we are strongly involved in implementing the green transition, and we want to develop our solutions to support the transition,” Hartikainen says.
