Norelco’s renewed, stylish ANU 3.5 SL distribution panel for hotel rooms

Norelco ANU 3.5 SL is a distribution panel for hotel rooms that can be flush-mounted into the wall for a seamless look. Norelco’s latest innovation – a flush-mounted enclosure manufactured and delivered as a foldable flat unit – saves space during both shipping and storage. The delivered unit is easy to handle and assemble at the installation site. 

The Norelco ANU 3.5 SL distribution panel can be installed both in plasterboard and concrete walls, either vertically or horizontally depending on the space available. ANU 3.5 SL protrudes only 3 millimetres from the wall surface. The triangle key lock of the protective door is also neatly below the door surface. 

“Normally you might have the cabinet protrude by as much as 13 to 37 millimetres, which why distribution panels are often installed inside a closet, for example. The installed ANU 3.5 SL distribution cabinet is aesthetically pleasing, and the near-seamless design improves the safety of hotel rooms. The inconspicuous distribution cabinet can also be installed at a location best suited for maintenance,” says Product Manager Jarkko Latonummi from Norelco. 

Flush-mounted enclosures delivered to the worksite as foldable flat units

Flush-mounting of ANU 3.5 SL is carried out with a special flush-mounted enclosure equipped with cabling flanges. 

Norelco has developed a flush-mounted enclosure, which is manufactured and delivered to the worksite as a foldable flat unit. This new solution brings direct environmental and financial savings: for example, whereas transporting 150 flush-mounted enclosures previously required 5 Euro pallets, the same delivery now fits on a single pallet. This has a direct impact on our product and consequently on the carbon footprint of the construction project. 

In terms of worksite logistics, storing enclosures delivered as foldable flat units takes up much less space. Transferring foldable flat units around the worksite is also much more convenient than hauling around assembled enclosures.

Installing the ANU 3.5 SL distribution panel is quick and easy: simply fold the flush-mounted enclosure into shape by hand, without any tools. This takes less than 15 seconds. Thanks to the cabling flanges, using distribution board bushes is no longer necessary, which makes the installation work much easier.

The distribution panel enclosures are first delivered and installed, after which the cables are laid into the distribution panel, the fittings are installed and the panel is protected by covering the opening, for instance, with plastic. The protective door is installed only when live voltage is connected to the cabinet. 

“Previously, the covers and doors were delivered in the same box with the distribution panel itself, whereas now we first ship the enclosure and panel housing and leave the covers, including protective doors, in storage in a separate package to await shipping. The covers are not shipped to the installation site until the finishing stages, which also improves safety at the worksite,” Latonummi points out.

* The door hinges can be installed both right and left.
* The door can also be fitted with a handle or an Abloy lock when necessary.
* The standard colour of the distribution panel is RAL-7036, but all RAL colours are possible on request
* The distribution panel can fit max. 46 DIN modules
