NorMega Withdrawable
Circuit-Breaker Module Switchgear for 12kV and 24kV
NORELCO NorMega is an arc-fault and short-circuit
tested withdrawable circuit-breaker
switchboard system for 12kV and 24kV networks. The system is air-insulated and has both metal-clad
and cubicle-type alternatives, with full or half carriages.
NorMega suits for e.g. transformer stations and industrial power
distribution, as main or distribution switchboards.

Reliable and safe
The safety and the reliability of the NorMega is guaranteed by the
type testing, the ease of use and the guaranteed management of critical situations.
NorMega is type tested according to the standards IEC 298 and IEC 694. The short-circuit and arc-fault tests have been made in an
accredited European testing laboratory.
The operational safety is assured e.g. with the following functions:
- all manual operations are accessible only when the doors are closed and
interlocked
- metal shutters prevents unintentional contact with the live parts in all
circumstances
- the interlocking mechanism of the circuit-breaker, the earthing-switch and the
door is
completely mechanical, preventing unpermitted actions.

NorMega 24
|
One of the fundamentals in the design of NorMega was the ease and
consistency of the manual operations. This has been accomplished by using a
mechanical operating panel, which has only one selection switch for all
operations. The ergonomics were also considered in the design of this panel.
In case of a fault, the pressure is released through the pressure
channels, which have been designed to let the pressure escape safely..

The versatility of the NorMega switchgear is emphasized, when choosing the suitable
switchgear for your use. NorMega offers the following possibilities:
- metal-clad and Cubicle-type switchgear
- full and half carriage
NorMega´s innovative design makes it possible to use the
circuit-breakers of various manufacturers
The ease of installation has also been considered in the design of the
switchgear. The connection space has been optimized in both the full and the
half carriages.
