Renewed NorPower short-circuit and arc-fault tested

Norelco NorPower multi-cubicle switchboard system has been type tested for short-circuit and arc-fault situations using the new busbar solution. These tests and the new busbar solution will further improve the operational safety and reliability of the NorPower systems in fault situations.

The short-circuit tests and the arc-fault tests for made for NorPower switchboards with nominal current of 3150A. The switchboards succesfully passed the following tests:

  • short-circuit withstand current 100kA (thermic) and 220kA (dynamic) 
  • arc-fault test 50kA, 0.3s, 725V 
 The tests were carried out in an independent german research institute. The NorPower has already  been tested earlier using a different busbar solution.
